Ski vacation with the pros
The Zell am See ski area, the Schmitten , attracts with numerous slopes for every level of difficulty. Not only the safe snow conditions from the beginning of December to April are unique, but above all the view of the surrounding peaks and Lake Zell, which is often adorned with an ice cover in winter. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier in Kaprun is also nearby – a paradise especially for freeriders and touring ski freaks. With the SkiAlpin Card, skiers in Zell am See-Kaprun can now also use the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn . That means: 408 km of fun on the slopes with just one ticket! The Glemmtal can be reached by cable car via the zellamseeXpress.
Skiing in Zell am See has been going on for over 100 years, and in 1927 the first cable car in the state of Salzburg was built here. So the people of Zell are real ski pioneers, and you can tell from the good infrastructure on the mountain, the perfectly groomed slopes and the hospitality in the ski huts!
The region also has a lot in store for its guests away from the slopes: horse-drawn sleigh rides, an ice rink, an indoor swimming pool with a sauna area, a nearby thermal bath (TauernSpa Kaprun) and, above all, a lovely city center with many shops, pubs and bars! Ski touring, snowshoeing and tobogganing – guests can experience all of this in the most beautiful surroundings.
